 Job Description

Home for Good works to find sustainable solutions for people who are homeless or for individuals, families and children who might become homeless without support. Located in inner-city Brisbane, a range of services are available for individuals and families including information, support, advocacy, health, recreational, and employment services.

These services are funded and compliant with Queensland Government Specialist Homelessness Program Guidelines.

As a Sustaining Tenancies Worker, you will work as part of Home for Good to provide centre based services, with outreach elements, through assessment, triage and prioritisation based on presenting needs of individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

This is a fixed term full time employment opportunity until 30 June 2025 with option to extend with conditions and salary at Level 4 of the SCHADS Award.

 Desired Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assertive outreach and develop individual service or health care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to meet participants’ needs.
  • Advocate for individuals with government departments and community agencies.
  • Support participants in developing self-advocacy skills.
  • Maintain accurate data and case notes in the organizational database.
  • Participate in supervision and professional development activities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Commitment to Micah Projects’ vision and mission.
  • Willingness to obtain relevant qualifications (Diploma in Community Services or Degree in Human Services/Social Work).
  • Demonstrated engagement and interpersonal skills, particularly in crisis situations.
  • Experience in people management, volunteering, and leadership in community settings.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work flexibly and adaptively.
  • Commitment to cultural diversity and equity principles.
