Research and Evaluation Network: Trauma-informed Evaluation

The QCOSS Research and Evaluation Network warmly invite you to our August webinar for a discussion on trauma informed evaluation. For this two-hour session, we invite you to come to listen and learn about applying a trauma-informed lens to evaluative practice. 

Experienced guest speakers Hannah Taylor (Founder and Principal Supervisor, Wise Australia) and Catherine Mann (Research and Evaluation Coordinator, Brisbane Youth Service) will guide our thinking on how community services can operationalise trauma informed theory and principles, ensuring accountability to clients and in evaluation of projects, programs and service delivery.  

Part 1 - Overview of trauma-informed practice (1 hour) 

  • What is trauma? 
  • Intersectionality of trauma for the communities we serve 
  • How we work through a trauma-informed lens in the community services sector 

Part 2 - Ways trauma informed practice can be applied to evaluation (1 hour) 

  • Methods for collecting and recording outcomes 
  • Accountability to our clients and communities and the feedback loop 
  • Principles/prompts to think about trauma-informed evaluation 
  • Examples of applying social work practice principles to evaluations at Brisbane Youth Service.
