DFSV Data Insights Network: What are we learning about DFSV through data?

Registration is closed for this event
Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) invites you to join us for our October webinar for the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) Data Insights Network. For this session, we highlight the voices, perspectives and insights of research, evidence and the use of data in the field of DFSV.

Part 1: Frontline workers and practitioners are at the forefront between clients and information systems, ensuring accurate and timely data collection while prioritising the safety and needs of their clients: yet data doesn't always come easy! Guest speaker Emily Douglas – formerly a Specialist Domestic Violence Advocate in the DFV cluster (Safer Lives Mobile Service and High Risk Team)” at Micah Projects and recent Data Analyst and Systems Administrator, will talk about her journey into this new role and the importance of having data effectively and seamlessly embedded into every day practice to generate value and outcomes for their clients.

Part 2:  Funded by the Paul Ramsay Foundation, Innovation Unit embarked on an 18-month journey with 31 Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Support services from across Australia. The team from Innovation Unit will share with us some of the insights from the field, including challenges and opportunities faced by the sector when accessing, using and generating data, captured in the recently released report Passionate, relentless, grassroots problem-solving.

The DFSV Data Insights Network is funded by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General (DJAG). This network provides DFSV service sector staff members across Queensland the opportunity to strengthen their capability and capacity to use, analyse and make meaning of DFSV data. Community service providers with an interest in learning more about DFSV data are also welcome to participate.

The DFSV Data Insights Network will adopt a strengths-based participatory focus that leverages, draws on and values current knowledge, expertise and capabilities that exist within the sector.

The Network will foster and facilitate two-way learning, where DFSV services can share current ways they use data to improve outcomes for their clients, as well as the network sharing resources and data capability uplift strategies, and ideas and tips.
