Data hub
Data availability and accessibility, or lack of access to quality and reliable data, continues to be a challenge for the community services sector across Queensland. QCOSS is developing data profiles exploring different geographical and service delivery areas to improve the sector’s access to timely information and research.
Start exploring:
Data Point
The QCOSS Data Point is a central location where community service staff can access up to date data that is relevant and meaningful to the community services sector in Queensland.
Key data sources, data visualisations and data tools have been selected that are user-friendly and publicly available to support the data capability and use of data in the not-for-profit sector.
Datasets are categorised across QCOSS policy focus areas including: Housing, Youth Justice, Living Affordability, Women’s Equality, Children and Young People and Community Services. Labour Force and Employment data sources are also included to support the sector for the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program.
User Instructions: Filter by policy focus area using the “Search by category” filter – select the policy areas of interest and click into the relevant dataset. Clicking the link will take you directly to the data source of interest, to find the data that is of interest to you.
Join the Research and Evaluation network
As the Queensland community services sector’s peak body, QCOSS delivers a year-round research and advocacy program to deliver change on structural social issues and to promote the work and needs of the sector.
The Research and Evaluation Network provides an opportunity for collaboration and knowledge sharing in the area of research and evaluation, with the aim of utilising community sector resources more effectively to promote improved outcomes for organisations and their clients.
