The announcement by the State Government today of a pledge to slash $1000 off Queenslanders’ power bills will deliver welcome relief to those bearing the brunt of the cost-of-living crisis, particularly families on lower incomes.
As we head into winter, it will make a practical, positive impact on people struggling to pay their food, electricity, and rent bills.
Every Queenslander has a right to share in this state’s prosperity. That’s why QCOSS has mounted the Make Queensland Fair campaign, including calling for ongoing rebates for Queenslanders on low incomes.
We look forward to seeing additional cost of living relief detailed in the upcoming Queensland state budget and we also urge to LNP to release its own energy policy.
