This program aims to help communities commemorate the Australian centenary of the First World War, and the outstanding service and sacrifice of Queensland’s men and women.
The program prioritises projects that are focused on the First World War. While funding may be available for projects or activities that commemorate other wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations, the First World War is the focus of this grants program. Grants are available in four categories:
- Historical research and education - digital innovation
- Acquisition and preservation of war memorabilia
- Memorials and honour boards
- Public commemorative events, arts and culture
Funding between $20,001 and $80,000 are available. Organisations are expected to contribute at least 25% (in cash) of the total project cost. This contribution excludes in-kind support, private sponsorships or funding from other programs.
