A free workshop for anyone in the local area who works or volunteers in an organisation that deals directly or indirectly with children. Learn how to create a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people. BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL.

NAPCAN is running FREE Child Safe Organisation workshops throughout Queensland during 2017, thanks to funding from the Queensland Government.

Why should you attend?

In light of the Royal Commission we know that it is critical to embed a child safe culture into every single organisation that has anything to do with children or young people, either directly or indirectly. This means that every member of an organisation needs to understand their role in keeping children safe and preventing child abuse and neglect.

NAPCAN’s 3.5-hour interactive workshop covers:

  • Establishing and maintaining a child safe culture

  • Child inclusive practice

  • How to create child safe and friendly environments

  • Key elements of a child safe organisation

  • Introducing the concept of ‘more than safe’.

The program also includes templates to help you with your policies and procedures including:

  • Complaints Processes

  • Code of Conduct

  • Child Safety Policies

  • Recruitment

  • Organisational Audit

Healthcare professionals; teachers and childcare workers; businesses who employ young people; as well as members of sporting clubs, churches and leisure associations are encouraged to attend.

To book, participants will need to visit www.napcan.org.au and click on the link to the training calendar at the bottom left of the home page. Or direct link to https://napcan.ismartsoftware.net/iRegister/Courses

NAPCAN – the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect – promotes world-class child abuse prevention research; advocates for child safe policies and strategies; coordinates campaigns and initiatives; and demonstrates best practice.
