Children’s Counsellor – Domestic and Family Violence Service
$67,367 - $71,260 depending on experience
An exciting opportunity exists for a Children’s Counsellor to join YFS’ Domestic and Family Violence Service (servicing Beaudesert and surrounding areas). The service provides counselling, court support and home safety upgrades for people experiencing domestic and family violence, and specialised counselling for children impacted by domestic violence.
The Children’s Counsellor will work within a case management framework and will prioritise safety through risk assessment, safety planning and risk management.
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated knowledge of the damaging effects of domestic and family violence on children and be confident, competent and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Most of all you will have a deep passion for working with children to build their self-esteem, understand their feelings and learn new ways to express them, improve parental and sibling relationships and develop strategies to improve their safety.
